What you'll do
Discover the joy of Paper Cut-Outs: Abstract Flora.
Step into a world of vibrant color and expressive form with this practical, immersive workshop. Inspired by the iconic “drawing with scissors” method popularized by Henri Matisse, you will explore the beauty of abstract art through simple floral shapes, rich patterns, and curated color schemes.
This session is designed to unlock your creativity by stripping away complex techniques and focusing on pure composition. Using an array of premium, high-quality papers, you will learn how to balance positive and negative space to design a striking visual narrative. Guided by structured design principles, you will experiment with layering and arrangement, culminating in the creation of at least one finished A3 artwork ready for framing.
This workshop offers a refreshing, tactile approach to art-making. Whether you want to explore new design methodologies, play with bold color relationships, or simply enjoy a morning of focused, analog creativity, you will leave with a beautiful, personalized masterpiece and the confidence to keep creating.
Participants must be 13 years or older.

Karina has seen first-hand, the way that people can gain confidence, be challenged, be surprised, and express ideas for which they’ve previously struggled to find words.
Recently completing a Diploma of Creative Arts and Health (University of Tasmania), Karina has gone on to study a Master of Guidance and Counselling (James Cook University), with a goal to offer arts-based counselling services in the near future.
